D.J. MacIntyre’s SLC-6 Music opens the summer season by showcasing new interpretations of KAZKO’s ‘Magellanic Clouds’. Sri Lankan artist KAZKO is in the early stages of his journey into electronic music, with his debut coming in 2020 via the Benichyo Label. Although beginning as more of a tech-house producer it was not long until KAZKO found his calling in progressive house, with Clubsonica, Droid9 and Movement Recordings being landing spots for his melodic sound. 2023 has proved to be a breakout year for the Colombo resident, adding projects for Freegrant Music, onedotsixtwo and Songuara to his resume. SLC-6 Music has also been home for him with ‘Magellanic Clouds’ marking his label debut last year via the SIX: Stage-11 collection, followed by two remixes, the most recent of which was a well-received rendition of D.J. MacIntyre’s ‘Phoenix Rising’. Now, looking to breathe new life into ‘Magellanic Clouds’, SLC-6 Music invites Ruls and Goda Brother to reimagine the track in their own essence.

Making his label debut with the first interpretation of ‘Magellanic Clouds’ is Mexican artist Ruls who is best known for his work on Digital Structures, Clubsonica and his own Undergroove imprint. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, the Mexican artist crafts a sweeping sonic experience all his own, one where tight rippling grooves serve as the anchor for crunchy effects and devilish stabs to push a strong narrative for the darker dancefloors out there.  Rounding out the release with the second and final rendition of ‘Magellanic Clouds’ is Goda Brother who also makes his label debut here. Fresh off a release for Panda Lab, the Egyption artist delivers a trippy atmospheric version which should fare well in the morning hours and closes the release out in style.
