As a pioneering electronic music producer, DJ, and the visionary owner of Balkan Connection South America, Argentinian Nicholas Van Orton has spent over two decades pushing the boundaries of electronic music.
Nicholas’s journey into electronic music began in the early ’90s, a time when the genre was still in its infancy. At the age of 20, he found himself at one of Buenos Aires’ first rave parties, and it was a transformative experience.
Coming from a background in hardcore metal, the transition into the electronic music scene was a revelation. Beyond the music itself, he was captivated by the diversity, mutual respect, and tolerance among the attendees.
This newfound spirit inspired him to dive deeper into the world of electronic music, and by the age of 23, he was already crafting his own beats and experimenting with music production.
Nicholas Van Orton’s music is known for its distinct and captivating style. When asked about his artistic signature, he emphasizes his desire to create danceable tracks. While remaining rooted in the progressive house genre, he constantly evolves and experiments with different structures and sonic elements.
His most recent release, “Termite,” in collaboration with Dj Kros , perfectly encapsulates his current dedication to producing dynamic and progressive music. Notably, this track has garnered exceptional acclaim and has enjoyed significant success, achieving remarkable chart performance on Beatport’s Progressive House charts.

In 2008, Nicholas Van Orton founded Balkan Connection South America with a clear mission in mind: to provide a platform for emerging producers to showcase their work.
The label’s inception was closely tied to the thriving progressive house scene in his home country, Argentina, which had been nurtured by influential figures like Hernan Cattaneo.
Even after 15 years of operation, the label continues to maintain its underground spirit, giving opportunities to new talents while also supporting established artists who have signed to major labels.
